Bacon Wrapped Sausages

These are our ALL TIME FAVORITES. I take them with me whenever someone says to bring a side or appetizer! They are easy to prepare, and folks will ask you to bring them again next time. (AKA there won’t be any leftovers.)

  • 1 lb pre-cooked sausage such as polish sausages, or "lil' smokies" (we always use polish sausage.)

  • 1/2 lb bacon

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 5 tbsp grainy mustard

  • Toothpicks

Cut sausages (if needed) into bite sized pieces. Cut bacon slices in half, twice, to get thinner, shorter slices. Wrap sausages in bacon, secure with toothpick. Place into slow cooker. When all wrapped and placed in slow cooker, add brown sugar and drizzle mustard on top. Place slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 4 hours. Carefully stir to mix the sugar and mustard after 1 - 2 hours (you can try to “stir” these earlier, but I’ve found that it’s best to let the sugar melt some first). Serve hot!
